Vi är fyra studenter vid Röda Korsets Folkhögskola i Stockholm. Under sex veckor framöver kommer vi att befinna oss i Sydafrika för att genomföra ett projekt som vi kallar "The Female Narrative". Vi kommer att träffa kvinnor för att diskutera kvinnors rättigheter och engagemang i samhället och är intresserade av att lära oss mer om hur livet ser ut, och har sett ut, för kvinnor i Sydafrika och hur de organiserat sig för att tillsammans främja bättre villkor för alla kvinnor, oavsett klass och hudfärg, både under och efter apartheid. Vårt mål är att skapa en plattform där kvinnor tar plats och deras röster blir hörda.

We are four students at the Red Cross Folk University in Stockholm, Sweden. We will be in South Africa for six weeks to carry out a project we call “The Female Narrative”. We will be meeting with an array of women to discuss women’s rights and participation in the civil society. We are interested in learning more about what conditions for women were like during apartheid, what changed after the fall of the regime, and how women have organised themselves to further better conditions for all women, regardless of race and/or class. Our goal is to create a platform where women can raise their voices and tell their stories.
